Alberto el tonto

At a news conference Tuesday, Gonzales said he would find out what went wrong but said he would not resign. "I acknowledge that mistakes were made here. I accept that responsibility," Gonzales said amid growing calls for his own termination.

Gonzales spins a lovely fable at a news conference about the questionable firing of 8 well-thought of, qualified federal prosecutors, including Carol Lam of San Diego.

Again, there is the mea culpa thing said in a loud, but actually uncontrite voice- a sham auto-criticism that says
it happened on our watch
mistakes were made
we'll get to the bottom of this
something went terribly wrong.

Yeah, no shit, Sherlock.
Notice the use of the indefinite third person, the passive (aggressive) verb formation.
It is never "I" did this so there. It's more "I take full responsibility" and symbolically offer to throw myself on my sword only to save myself at the last moment by offering up an underling (the lying wretch!) to take the fall.
For a biblically inspired presidency, this is oh so sacrifice of Abraham.

Screw it.

Recall Gonzales, fire him on charges and then hold him over for trial.
Que conyo.
read the sorry rest here.
